Wilson ITA coach of the year

Alison Ojeda | University of Tennessee

Alison Ojeda has led the Lady Volunteers to one of the most monumental seasons in program history. In her eighth season as head coach at her alma mater, Ojeda led her team to 22 wins, the most during her tenure for the second consecutive year. The team also triumphed over twelve opponents, including seven ranked in the top 25, most notably defeating No. 1 Oklahoma State. The Lady Vols have now posted consecutive seasons of at least 21 wins for the first time since 2002-03. This is the most successful two-year period for the program since these two campaigns.

ITA Assistant Coach of the Year

Jarryd Chaplin | University of Georgia

In his first season as Associate Head Coach, Jarryd Chaplin was a key addition to the Bulldogs staff under first-year head coach Drake Bernstein. This season, Chaplin has helped the team immensely on its way to an SEC Regular Season Co-Championship, SEC Tournament Championship and NCAA Tournament National Championship appearance. With Chaplin on staff, Georgia's doubles identity has proven to be a major source of success for the Bulldogs, with a total of 23 doubles points from a total of 29 games played. Chaplin's coaching impact in doubles and singles helped the Bulldogs to a 25-5 overall and an NCAA National Runner-Up finish. Chaplin also helped the Bulldog doubles team of Mert and Vidmanova to an NCAA Doubles championship.

ITA Arthur Ashe Leadership and sportsmanship

Connie Ma | Stanford University

Throughout her life, Connie Ma has believed in the profound impact she can have on other individuals and communities through acts of kindness and service. This passion, along with her interest in biology and science, have been the driving forces behind her commitment to volunteer initiatives and her desire to study medicine. As such, one of her major commitments in this field is her involvement with Cardinal Free Clinics, a student-run clinic in partnership with Stanford Healthcare, which provides free transitional care to those without the means to obtain health insurance. or cannot afford to do so, as well as anyone else who faces access barriers. Connie currently works as a Mandarin interpreter, where she helps bridge the language barrier between Mandarin-speaking patients/families and medical staff.

ITA Cissie Leary Sportsmanship Award

Carol Lee | Georgia Tech

This year, Carol received the ACC Excellence Award and was named Georgia Tech Female Student-Athlete of the Year. Carol has consistently made the Dean's List and has a cumulative GPA of 3.35. Carol has committed herself this year to becoming a better leader. At Georgia Tech, instead of captains, there are weekly leaders. This year, Carol took over our weekly leadership program at the end of the semester. Instead of the coaching staff directing the topic of what to discuss during our team meetings, Carol created the team meetings for the past three weeks and single-handedly planned and dictated a team meeting called “Road to the Sweet-16,” which almost put the team on top. the upset over Texas in the round of 32. Carol has set the standard in work ethic and consistently pushes her teammates to be better.

ITA Rookie of the Year

Luciana Perry | Ohio University

Ohio State freshman Lucina Perry made an immediate impact on college tennis. In the Big Ten, she was named Big Ten Freshman of the Year and First Team All-Big Ten. She was also 3-0 in both singles and doubles in the tournament, earning Big Ten All-Tournament Team honors. She was the No. 10 newcomer entering the season, moving up the singles and doubles rankings after the fall, reaching No. 41 in singles and No. 17 in doubles (ranked with three different partners during the season). She helped the Buckeyes to a 10-1 record in Big Ten play, finishing second and the team reaching the conference tournament finals. Ohio State reached as high as No. 7 in the NCAA team rankings and was No. 12 in the NCAA tournament. The Buckeyes finished the year 20-8.

ITA most improved player

Ange Oby Kajuru | Oklahoma State University

Ange Oby Kajuru is in her third collegiate tennis season and first at Oklahoma State University. She is currently ranked third nationally in both singles and doubles and has shown tremendous improvement and development in both singles and doubles this season. She finished her freshman year winning 14 singles matches and ranked 107th nationally. In her sophomore year, she won 25 singles matches and finished ranked No. 52 nationally in singles. This season, she leads the team with 37 wins and only 7 losses, winning the ITA Central Region singles championship, a doubles finalist and a doubles finalist at the ITA Fall National Championships.

Throughout her career, Amelia Honer has posted a record of 75-20 in singles and a record of 59-27 in doubles. She is ranked 13th in the nation in doubles and has been named Big West Player of the Year twice. Maria Stoiana | Texas A&M University

During the 2023-2024 season, Stoiana stood out among the best in the country. The junior started her fall campaign on top as she became the first Aggie in program history to win the ITA All-American singles championship. Her win in the fall took her to the top of the ITA singles rankings, where Stoiana held another program first and was ranked No. 1 in the country. She continued her success into the spring, helping the Aggies capture their first national championship in program history. Individually, she achieved 25 wins in singles and 20 in doubles during the doubles season. Her performances helped her claim a plethora of accolades throughout the year, including consecutive SEC Player of the Year honors, NCAA Tournament MVP, NCAA All-Tournament Team honors in singles and doubles, All-America honors in singles and doubles and finally All-SEC First Team honors.
