Hockey India begins registration for Hockey India League 2024-2025

New Delhi, June 14, 2024: The much-awaited Hockey India League (HIL) will make its comeback later this year after an eight-year hiatus. The Hockey India League 2024-2025 edition will consist of 8 men's and 6 women's teams and hockey players from across the country are invited to register on or before June 30, 2024.

This is the first time in the history of the sport that an exclusive women's HIL will be organized simultaneously, underscoring Hockey India's vision to promote women's hockey and subsequently increase the talent pool of women hockey players in India.

In addition, Hockey India has also invited players from the top 15 hockey countries to register their players and support staff for the upcoming season, which will be held in the FIH-approved period; the last week of December 2024 to the first week of February 2025.

Commenting on the occasion, Hockey India President Dr. Dilip Tirkey: “We are excited to open player registration for the Hockey India League 2024-2025 edition. This move means we are close to the restart of the HIL, a league that was loved by hockey players and fans around the world.
