RICHMOND, Va. (June 14, 2024) A trio of CAA baseball players were recognized on the 2024 ABCA/Rawlings All-America baseball team on Friday.
Northeast graduate first baseman Tyler MacGregor was selected to the All-America second team, while Northeastern was a graduate outfielder Alex Lane and William & Mary junior pitcher Nate Knowles were named to the All-America third team.
MacGregor, the CAA co-player of the year, set eight Northeastern records in 2024 after hitting a CAA-best .402, leading the nation with 29 doubles and 19 home runs while adding 80 RBIs. He also led the conference with 72 runs scored and a .786 slugging percentage.
Lane, a two-time first-team All-CAA and ABCA All-Region honoree, hit .375 with 18 home runs and tied MacGregor for the league lead with 80 RBIs. He scored 48 runs, 13 doubles and stole 14 bases for a Huskies team that went 38-17 overall.
Knowles, the CAA Pitcher of the Year and a third-team NCBWA All-American, compiled an 8-3 record while atop the CAA and ranked ninth nationally with a 2.48 ERA. He led the conference and was ranked 21stst in Division I with 112 strikeouts in 80.0 innings and held opponents to a .178 batting average.
