Pakistan were eliminated as the US advanced into the Super Eights leg of the T20 World Cup on Friday during their match against Ireland was left behind in Lauderhill.

The US reached the last eight on their T20 World Cup debut, largely thanks to their upset Super over win against Pakistan.

Former Pakistani cricketer Ahmad Shahzad shared his disappointment over the team's departure.
Shahzad wrote on those who don't deserve it and aren't ready to improve. All eyes are now on the PCB chairman!
The 17th-ranked USA joined West Indies, India, Australia, South Africa and Afghanistan in the Super Eights, with two more teams yet to qualify.
The US qualification for the Super Eights marks the seventh time an associate team has advanced from the group stage to the Super stage in the T20 World Cups, following Ireland (2009), Netherlands (2014), Afghanistan (2016), Namibia (2021) and Scotland. (2021) and the Netherlands (2022).
The Super Eights starting Wednesday will split into two groups, with each team guaranteed three games to try to reach the semifinals.
