5-star offensive tackle blown away by visit
The Oregon Ducks are on track to make a big splash in the 2025 recruiting cycle.
However, they are also leaving their mark on the class of 2026.
Last week, the Ducks hosted five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell for two days on an unofficial visit to Eugene. And according to Cantwell himself, the Ducks made a fantastic impression during his trip.
I saw pretty much everything during the visit, including gaining more insight into how Coach (Alique) Terry and Coach (Dan) Lanning run the program, as well as seeing all the facilities and meeting all of the people in the program, Cantwell told On3's Chad Simmons. It was a pretty cool experience, you see it all the time on social media, cool to see it in person. It's pretty legit.
One of the top players in the entire class of 2026, Cantwell is currently ranked fourth nationally, the second-ranked offensive tackle and the No. 1 player in the state of Missouri, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.
Currently, he's considered a Missouri prospect, with Oklahoma, Nebraska and Georgia also in the mix.
However, after what he went through in Eugene with Lanning and Terry, the Ducks could very well now find themselves in the mix for the five-star Nixa (MO).
Getting to work on some drills with Coach Terry and tightening up on some of my O-line stuff was definitely one of the highlights, Cantwell said. It was absolutely wonderful to work with him. It was a lot of fun getting to know some of the things they do. Meeting Coach Lanning was one of the highlights of it, he's obviously a great guy. I think he has steered the program in the right direction. I think they will be really successful under his leadership.
