Softball is ranked fourth on the CSC Academic All-District Team
ITHACA, NY The 2023-2024 Academic All-District Softball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined achievements on the diamond and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program recognizes softball honorees separately in four divisions NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. The CSC Academic All-District teams include the student-athletes listed on the following pages.
Academic All-District honorees were eligible for promotion to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America finalists will advance to the national ballot that will be voted on by CSC members. The Academic All-America first-, second- and third-team honorees will be announced on June 18, 2024.
The Ithaca College softball team saw it Haley Petrucci, Belle de Oliveira, Hudson Hassler And Anna Cornell earned a spot on the All-District Team, while Petrucci was selected as a finalist to be considered for All-America honors. It also marks the second time de Oliveira, Hassler and Cornell earned CSC All-District honors, as they did during the 2023 season.
Anna Cornell earned Second Team All-Region status from the NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) after securing the Liberty League All-Conference First Team as the ace of the Bombers' pitching staff. Cornell posted a 13-8, pitching a career-high 131.1 innings, including 15 complete games in which she had a career-best 1.76 ERA with a career-high 206 strikeouts, which also led the Liberty League.
Petrucci, who earned a spot in both the NFCA First Tram All-Region and the First Team All-Conference, was the Bombers' most powerful hitter as she hit a Liberty League-best 12 home runs, which also tied for 17th .e within NCAA Division III. On the season, Petrucci slashed .377 in her 36 starts, she also posted career-highs in RBI (33), walks (15), doubles (11) and runs (25).
From all 40 games, Hudson Hassler batted .254 this season as the Bombers' right fielder. She had a total of 19 RBI on the season and also scored 28 runs. She hit just her second career homer in Ithaca's 3–2 victory over St. Lawrence on April 19. During her career, Hassler played in 130 games where she was a .301 hitter.
For the second season in a row, Belle de Oliveira earned CSC All-District. De Oliveira, a clinical health studies major, played in 32 games this season, hitting a career-high .275 while driving in 13 RBI. During her collegiate career, she played in 117 games for IC, including 95 starts, where she had a .940 fielding percentage in center field.
Ithaca finished the season with a 26–14 record, including a 9–5 Liberty League mark to once again qualify for the conference tournament.
