Georgetown Womens Soccer announces 2024 schedule presented by MedStar Health
WASHINGTON Head women's soccer coach at Georgetown University Dave Nolan announced the 2024 schedule on Tuesday, presented by MedStar Health. This season, the Hoyas will play 18 regular season games, including 11 games at Shaw Field on the campus of Georgetown University.
The Hoyas will play nine non-conference games, five of which will be against opponents participating in the 2023 NCAA Tournament. GU ended the season voting in the final 2023 national poll. GU's season came to an end in the second round of the NCAA tournament against St. Louis.
GU opens the 2024 season at Shaw Field while the Hoyas open the year with a six-game homestand, starting with the Hoyas' home opener on August 15, while the Blue & Gray welcome Vanderbilt to the Hilltop. After taking a week off, Georgetown will face Quinnipiac (Aug. 22) and Sacred Heart (Aug. 25) to close out the opening month of the season.
A game against Lafayette will be the Hoyas' first test of September as GU will take on the Leopards on Sunday, September 1. Pepperdine will travel to the District for a game on Thursday afternoon before GU closes the week versus Penn State on Sunday, September. 8.
The Hoyas will then hit the road for the final two non-conference games of the season, against South Carolina on Thursday, September 12 and Princeton on Sunday, September 15.
A home game against the Creighton Bluejays on September 22 will mark the start of BIG EAST action for GU. The Blue & Gray next welcome Seton Hall to the Hilltop on Thursday, September 26 before hitting the road for the next two games. GU will take on the Connecticut Huskies on September 29 before traveling to Indianapolis, Indiana to take on the Butler Bulldogs in a Thursday night showdown.
Georgetown returns home on Sunday, Oct. 6 to take on St. John's before hitting the road again to face DePaul on Oct. 13. GU then travels to Providence, Rhode Island to take on the Friars before returning to DC to take on Marquette on Sunday. , October 20.
GU's final road trip of the year will be to Villanova, where the Hoyas will take on the Wildcats in a midweek game on Thursday, October 24. The Blue & Gray return to the Hilltop for the regular season finale, while GU will take on Xavier on Thursday. October 31st.
