2024 Spring All-Met: Boys Tennis First Team, Honorable Mention

The following student-athletes have been selected to the Washington Posts 2024 All-Met team for boys tennis:

Matthew Staton, Sr., Colgan

Staton spent his entire high school career as the most dominant force in boys tennis in Northern Virginia. His elite reputation only grew this year as he became one of the top-ranked seniors in the country. Although the three-time state singles champion fell short of a fourth title this spring, he made great strides as a leader for the Sharks and offered advice and guidance to his teammates. As he attends the Air Force Academy, he leaves behind a tremendous impact and legacy.

Mukundh Boopathi, Sr., Marriotts Ridge

Building on an undefeated regular season, Bopathi capped a stellar playoff run in which he didn't drop a set with the Maryland Class 3A singles title.

Nikola Galov, Jr., Langley

Galov led his team to a second consecutive state title after winning the region singles championship. Although a loss to Staton in the individual state quarterfinals ended his season undefeated streak, his work at No. 1 singles and doubles for the Saxons helped extend Langley's Virginia Class 6 dominance.

Albert Mackey, Jr., Churchill

With his good height and imposing coverage on the field, Mackey was the focal point of a particularly strong Churchill team. He showed an unyielding effort to chase every point, a habit that helped him reach the Maryland Class 4A singles title.

Jack Sherner, Sr., Gonzaga

Sherner has long been among the best players in the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference, but this year he rose above many of his peers. He earned victories over No. 1 singles and doubles in the WCAC finals, then advanced to the DC State tournament, where a tense, drawn-out battle with Cyrus Zia of St. Albans yielded a silver medal.

Cameron Zia, Sr., St. Albans

While an injury in the DC State semifinals blunted some of his postseason potential, it didn't overshadow another year of top play. Zia lost just one match all season and made a crucial contribution to his team's Interstate Athletic Conference title before finishing third in the DC singles tournament and first in doubles alongside his brother.

Cyrus Zia, Jr., St. Albans

Zia had high expectations after winning two state titles last spring, and he did not disappoint. He went undefeated in singles and doubles, achieved crucial IAC victories and continued to develop his brand of ruthless tennis, landing three spots in the DC singles and doubles titles.

Since he began coaching the Cardinals more than a decade ago, Noone has patiently planted the seeds of a championship-winning program. This year, that work finally paid off as Ireton won its first WCAC title with a squad that showed talent and determination at every spot in the lineup.

One important advantage is the speed at which information is sent and received. With the help of the internet, the shopping habits of many persons have drastically changed. The car insurance industry hasn't remained untouched by these changes. On the internet, drivers can compare insurance prices and find out which sellers have the best offers. View photos The advantages of comparing online car insurance quotes are the following: Online quotes can be obtained from anywhere and at any time. Unlike physical insurance agencies, websites don't have a specific schedule and they are available at any time. Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Online quotes will allow policyholders the chance to discover multiple insurance companies and check their prices. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless. Usually, insurance companies will do research about a potential customer before granting him coverage. Online quotes can be sorted easily. Although drivers are recommended to not choose a policy just based on its price, drivers can easily sort quotes by insurance price. Using brokerage websites will allow drivers to get quotes from multiple insurers, thus making the comparison faster and easier.
