11 UMD women's hockey players named 2023-24 AHCA Division I All-American Scholars
11 women's hockey players from the University of Minnesota Duluth were named 2023-24Krampade Division I All-American Scholars for maintaining at least a 3.75 GPA in each semester of the season. In addition to their academic performance, players had to appear in at least 40% of their team's matches, excluding injured players and backup goalkeepers.
The 11 are junior defenders Hanna Baskinsenior defender Paula Bergstrom, senior forward Katie Davisfreshman goaltender Ève Gascon, graduate forward Ree Huntsenior defender Nina Jobst Smithfreshman defenseman Ida Karlssonjunior forwardJenna Lawryredshirt sophomoreMary Kate O'Brienfreshman forward Grace Saduraand senior forwardClara Van Wieren.
Davis, Jobst-Smith and Van Wieren earn the honors for an impressive fourth time, while Baskin and Lawry take home their third award in as many seasons. O'Brien is now a two-time recipient. Hunt is now a four-time selection after winning the award three times previously at Bemidji State University University, while Bergstrom was previously named an Academic All-American once before at Long Island University. In total, the Bulldogs had six players who earned the award for three or more seasons, and eight who were named for it two or more.
A total of 292 Division I women earned the honor in the awards show's eighth season.
