New Crystal Ball prediction has Hokies landing QB AJ Brand
Recruiting in the Class of 2025 is in full swing, with commitments coming in in recent weeks for Virginia Tech football coach Brent Pry. This weekend is the last official visit weekend for the month of June and there are currently more than a dozen recruits on campus in Blacksburg.
Currently in the Class of 2025, the Hokies have signed one quarterback in DeSoto, Texas, signal caller Kelden Ryan, who is visiting this weekend, and Virginia Tech is the candidate for two others, Malik Washington and AJ brand. On Friday, 247Sports released their latest Crystal Ball Prediction for Brand and it's a very good sign for Pry and his staff.
Days after a 247Sports Crystal Ball Prediction predicted Christian Evans would land in Blacksburg, which he officially did Thursday, Brand's Crystal Ball Prediction also has him committing to Virginia Tech.
Washington is a coveted quarterback in the Class of 2025, but all indications are that he will commit to Maryland, Syracuse or Central Florida in the future, likely sometime after the Elite 11 Finals he is wrapping up. As for Brand, he has been someone the Hokies have recruited hard and have made it known they would like to get him.
He was in Blacksburg for a visit on June 7 and his final decision will likely come down to Virginia Tech and South Carolina. He is expected to complete his 7-on-7 schedule this summer before making a final decision on his college destination. Last season he threw for just under 3,000 yards and 45 touchdowns while rushing for 1,113 yards and another 17 touchdowns for Irmo High School in South Carolina. Brand, who has a very similar skill set to current Hokies QB Kyron Drones, spent a lot of time with the Baylor transfer during his visit earlier this month.
