The U.S. Olympic tennis team consists of Gauff and Eubanks of Atlanta

Coco Gauff and Chris Eubanks are about to make their Olympic debuts, joining a team made up of veteran Olympians and novice competitors.

ATLANTA Two of Atlanta's own will represent the US at the Paris Olympics, according to the United States Tennis Association (USTA) on Thursday.

Coco Gauff and Chris Eubanks are about to make their Olympic debuts, joining a team made up of veteran Olympians and other novice competitors.

The U.S. women's team will consist of No. 2 Gauff in singles, along with No. 5 Jessica Pegula, No. 11 Danielle Collins, No. 17 Emma Navarro and doubles No. 11 Desirae Krawczyk. Gauff, who was previously named to the Tokyo 2021 team but did not compete due to a positive COVID-19 test, will compete with Pegula in both singles and doubles. The team is coached by USTA Head of Womens Tennis Kathy Rinaldi.

On the men's side, the team will consist of world singles No. 12 Taylor Fritz, No. 13 Tommy Paul, No. 44 Eubanks, No. 53 Marcos Giron and world doubles No. 6 Rajeev Ram and No. 15 Austin Krajicek. A former two-time All-American at Georgia Tech, Eubanks had a breakout year in 2023 with a remarkable run to the Wimbledon quarterfinals. The men's team will be led by 2012 Olympic doubles gold medalist and Davis Cup captain Bob Bryan.

The US plans to announce its mixed doubles team of the players listed above at a later date.

When it comes to tennis, the US has a strong history, with 24 medals, 14 of them gold, since the sport fully returned to medal events in 1988.
