Table tennis tournament: Rajkot's Jaynil upsets Chitrax to take first men's title | Ahmedabad News
The tournament was organized by the Table Tennis Association of Surat District under the aegis of the Gujarat State Table Tennis Association (GSTTA).
Jaynil, who won his first ever state rankings title, said I could never win a title in the junior and youth categories. “I am delighted to make my debut on the state rankings podium with this victory,” the 23-year-old said.
The women's final will be an all-Surat affair with top seed Filzahfatema Kadri taking on second seed Krittwikka Sinha Roy. While Filzah cruised past Bhavnagar's Riya Jayswal 4-1, Roy defeated sixth seed Radhapriya Goel of Gandhinagar by a similar margin.
Aravallis Arman Shaikh recorded an easy 4-0 win over 16th seed Dhey Jani of Bhavnagar to walk away with the U-19 boys title. Amdavadi paddler Himansh defeated top seed Aayush Tanna 3-1 to take the U-17 boys crown. Second seed Janmejay defeated Abhilaksh Patel to take third place.
