It stands to reason that the Minnesota Wild are unlikely to bring back Alex Goligoski on a new deal, as the veteran is headed to unrestricted free agency this summer. But according to one report, the longtime NHL defenseman may be hanging up his skates for good.
According to Anthony Di Marco of The Fourth Period, Goligoski may be considering retirement.
The 38-year-old spent the last three seasons in Minnesota and due to injuries and simply not being good enough, he played just 36 games in the 2023-24 season. He has played a total of 1,078 career games and scored 87 goals and 475 points.
