Whittle, Plaehn Named to the 2024 CSC Academic All-District At-Large Team

Ohio hockey members Katelyn Whittle And Anouk Plaehn were named to the 2024 Academic All-District At-Large Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, the organization announced today (June 25).
Whittle (Glenwood, Maryland) concluded her five-year playing career at Ohio last fall, posting a 3.934 GPA while earning a master's degree in Ohio's dual MBA/MSA program. Whittle finished last season with the best athletic performance of her career, winning MAC Offensive Player of the Year after scoring a career-high 18 goals, nine assists and 45 points for the Bobcats. Her performance moved her to third all-time in career goals, fifth in goals in a season, third in points in a season and fourth in career points. In a career-defining moment on Senior Night, Whittle scored a career-high five goals against Bellarmine (Oct. 20), adding two assists for a total of 12 points in one game, a Bobcat record.
In addition to earning MAC Offensive Player of the Year honors, Whittle also earned a spot on the All-West Region First Team, All-MAC First Team and was named Academic All-MAC in 2023. She is a two-time All-MAC Second Team selection, a four-time Academic All-MAC selection and earned MAC Offensive Player of the Week honors three times in her career. Whittle was also named Ohio's female recipient of the MAC Medal of Excellence.
Plaehn (Hannover, Germany), an international business and business analytics major with a GPA of 3.984, completed her sophomore season with the Bobcats last fall. Plaehn started all 16 games for the Bobcats and recorded nine points on one goal and seven assists on the season. She recorded career-highs in assists, points and total minutes played. She scored against Appalachian State (October 27) and assisted in the first three games of the season and added two more in an 8-2 win over Bellarmine (October 20), where she also made a defensive save. She finished the season second on the team in assists and third in the MAC in assists. Plaehn was named Second Team All-MAC and Academic All-MAC.
