Memorial Stadium Rejected as “Toughest Places to Play” by EA Sports College Football
According to the new EA Sports video game, Nebraska's Memorial Stadium still has some work to do to become one of college football's best environments.
This week has been declared 'Rankings Week' by the new video game EA Sports College Football, as the brand makes a triumphant return to consoles on July 19. Starting today, the video game will release its reviews of various topics related to the experience with users.
To start the week, EA Sports published the 'Toughest Places to Play' Top 25, which includes various locations where the Husker will play each other in 2024. That includes trips to Ohio State's Ohio Stadium (4) and Iowa's Kinnick Stadium (20).
Surprisingly, Memorial Stadium in Nebraska was not on the list. Other notable schools on the list included Texas A&M's Kyle Field (1), Penn State's Beaver Stadium (6), Wisconsin's Camp Randall Stadium (7), Big Ten newcomer Oregon's Autzen Stadium (11), Michigan's Michigan Stadium (16) and Michigan State's Spartan Stadium. Stadium (22).
In the latest edition of the NCAA Football franchise, Nebraska was ranked 13th in the Toughest Places to Play as part of the 2014 game.
Nebraska will have road games at Purdue, Indiana, Ohio State, USC and Iowa this season. Memorial Stadium has made headlines over the past nine months with talk of the stadium's reconstruction, renovation and even advertising campaigns.
The Huskers will host UTEP, Colorado, Northern Iowa, Illinois, Rutgers, UCLA and Wisconsin for their “Sea of Red” this season. The games in Colorado and Illinois have been designated a 'night game' because the game with the Fighting Illini will take place on Friday evening in Lincoln.
The next list, to be released by EA Sports on Wednesday, June 26, will include an in-depth description of what each stadium experience will include for teams participating in the new game.
