The Utah Hockey Club will be based at Kearns Olympic Oval for the time being
The NHL hockey team will partner with the Olympic Oval for its training facility.

It may take some time for the Utah Hockey Club to build its permanent office and training facility in Sandy.
But for now, the club is moving to the Olympic Oval in Kearns and will be making a number of adjustments to the facility.
Team owner Ryan Smith has already started converting one of the Olympic-sized ice sheets into an NHL-regulation rink for the team to practice on. He also plans to build NHL locker rooms and office space for the team's decision makers. New treatment areas will also be added.
The Olympic Oval was built for Salt Lake City, where the 2002 Olympic Games would take place. It currently has two ice sheets and a skating oval. US Speedskating still operates out of its Kearns location.
The project is expected to cost several million dollars, Smith Entertainment Group said in a press release.
