Shannehan invited to US Lacrosse U20 tryouts
SPARKS, Maryland – Incoming freshman Tim Shannehan of the Boston University men's lacrosse team has been invited to a three-day tryout for the 2025 U.S. Under-20 Men's National Team, USA Lacrosse announced Thursday.
The tryouts, which will be held June 28-30 at USA Lacrosse headquarters, are the first step toward finalizing the roster that will represent the United States at next summer's Men's U20 Lacrosse World Championship in Seoguipo, South Korea on Jeju Island beginning July 18-27, 2025. Players must have been born between Sept. 1, 2004, and July 17, 2009 to meet World Lacrosse's age requirements for the event.
Shannehan, who was recently named USA Lacrosse High School Boys' Northeast Player of the Year, capped a sensational career at Fairfield Prep this spring. The dynamic forward broke the school's single-season scoring record with 134 points on 73 goals and 61 assists, leading the Jesuits to a 21-1 record and a Connecticut state title. Shannehan also became the school's all-time leading scorer with 338 points, including five points in both the state semifinal and championship games.
