RAIA: The YMCA All-Goa Major Ranking Table Tennis Tournament, held at the Indoor Stadium in Campal, Panjim, witnessed an exciting display of young talent in the junior boys category, highlighted by a thrilling showdown between Aaron Farias and Chandan Caro in both the boys U-17 as well as U-19 category.
Aaron Farias and Chandan Caro emerged as the best players of the day, showing their skills and determination to reach the final. Chandan Caro’s remarkable performance had earlier seen him reach the final in the Boys U-15 category, marking his third final appearance in the tournament. The road to the final was paved with intense matches. In the Boys U-17 quarter-finals, Aaron Farias defeated Darren Duarte 3-0, while Rishan Shaikh defeated Surendra Chube by the same scoreline. Atharv Dhulapkar defeated Khushal Naik 3-2 in a thrilling match, while Chandan Caro triumphed over Chinmay Bhakare 3-0.
In the semi-final, Aaron Farias won 3-0 against Rishan Shaikh and Chandan Caro defeated Atharv Dhulapkar 3-1. This set the stage for their final confrontation.
