Syracuse Orange football: Class of 2025 in ESPN's Top-20
ESPN's Craig Haubert recently dropped his update top 25 class of 2025 college football recruiting rankings and the Syracuse orange come in on the 18th.
The Dutch team with a total of 25 commitments, the most commitments after only Rutgers (27), were previously in 12th place. Ten of the committed recruits for Syracuse in 2025 are from the tri-state area.

Best Offensive Prospect: WR Darien Williams
Williams is a local product of Christian Brothers Academy (CBA). He is New York States' third-highest ranked recruit, behind ESPN300 prospect Lyrick Samuel (WR) and Jayden Mann (OT). Williams is quick off the line of scrimmage and uses his bigger 6-0 frame to adjust and make tougher catches in the air.
Best Defensive Candidate: DE Sharlandiin Zaq Strange
Foreign was Fran Brown's first commitment in the class of 2025, announcing he would play for the Orange in late January. The 6-3, 235-pounder has fluctuated between a four-star and three-star rating, but is currently a three-star recruit and the 14th best player in Pennsylvania on ESPN.
SU is still on the hunt for numerous candidates for the 2025 class, including quarterback Malik Washington, who will announce his commitment tomorrow afternoon.
The Dutch are also pursuing two ESPN300 recruits: Jeff Exinor Jr. (ATH/WR) and Dwayne Galloway (CB). Both officially visited Syracuse on June 14, so you can see where Fran Brown's class ranks in the next update.
