Seven Trojans named to the CSC At-Large Academic All-District Team

THE ANGELS – Seven Trojans from three different teams were selected to the College Sports Communicators At-Large Academic All-District Team on Tuesday, June 25. USC's latest CSC Academic All-District honors Ella Heaney And Claudia Shevitz of lacrosse; Andrej Grgurevic of men's water polo; Megan Kraft, Delay Maple, Audrey Nourse And Nicole Nourse of beach volleyball all played a major role in the success of their teams' recently completed seasons.
After closing the spring season with its fourth consecutive NCAA championship, USC beach volleyball had four members of the roster on the roster. The Nourse twins both earned master's degrees in public relations and advertising, while Maple graduated with a degree in communications and advertising. Megan Kraft obtained a degree in accounting. Kraft was named AVCA Player of the Year and Maple was a First Team All-American.This is Nicole Nourse third time on the list, after earning 2023 CSC All-District status and 2021 CSC Third-Team Academic All-American status. Audrey Nourse earned All-District and Third-Team Academic All-American recognition in 2023. This marks the first time Maple and Kraft have appeared on the CSC All-District Team.
Lacrosse star Shevitz earned her degree in public relations, while her teammate Heaney graduated with a master's degree in entrepreneurship and innovation after another All-Pac-12 season. Heaney won the Trojans' first Pac-12 Attacker of the Year award and Shevitz won All-Pac-12 Second Team honors. This is Heaney's first career CSC Academic All-District recognition, while Shevitz was named to the list in 2023.
As a sophomore on the USC men's water polo team, Grgurevic helped the Trojans reach a 19th consecutive NCAA Tournament after winning the 2023 MPSF Tournament Championship. He was an All-MPSF Honorable Mention recipient and an MPSF Player of the Week award last season, and has now also expanded his collection of academic awards with his first CSC Academic awards. Grgurevic also earned spots on the ACWPC All-Academic, MPSF Scholar-Athlete and Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll lists for 2023-24. Grgurevic is from Sydney, Australia, and scored 21 goals for the Trojans last season and is studying business at USC.
The CSC At-Large Academic All-District Team is composed of qualified, nominated student-athletes with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 from the following programs: beach volleyball, women's bowling, women's rowing, fencing, women's field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, men's volleyball, water polo and wrestling. Nominations are limited to five men and five women per institution.
As members of the CSC Academic All-District Team, all seven student-athletes will compete for At-Large Academic All-America status, as determined by vote of CSC members. The Men's and Women's At-Large Academic All-American teams will be announced on Wednesday, July 17.
