Volleyball Announces 2024 Schedule – Bowie State University Athletics
BOWIE, MD — With excitement building for the upcoming season, Bowie State women's volleyball head coach said Edric Poitier announced the 2024 schedule on Monday.
The Bulldogs' 30-game schedule consists of 13 non-conference games and two tournaments hosted by Shepherd and Charleston (WV).
Fans will get a glimpse of the Bulldogs team on the field on September 3 when Bowie State hosts an internal pre-season exhibition game at AC Jordan Arena.
BSU opens its 2024 schedule with the Shepherd Tournament on Sept. 6-7. The Bulldogs will take on the Rams and Mars Hill (Sept. 6), followed by games against Edinboro and Glenville State on day two (Sept. 7).
The Bulldogs will play an away game against HBCU neighbor Morgan State on September 10 before playing their season opener against Goldey-Beacom on September 13.
Prior to BSU’s trip to West Virginia to compete in the Charleston Tournament, the Bulldogs travel to Washington Adventist on Sept. 15. The Charleston Tournament features four games for Bowie State on Sept. 20 and 21 at the H. Bernard Wehrle Senior Athletic Arena.
Bowie State opens conference play on Sept. 26 with a home game against Virginia State, then plays at home against Elizabeth City State on Sept. 30. The Bulldogs host Notre Dame (MD) on Oct. 3 for a non-conference game at AC Jordan Arena.
The first Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) meet will be held on October 5-6 in Winston-Salem, NC. The Bulldogs will compete in four cross-divisional games against members of the Southern Division.
Following the CIAA recap, the Bulldogs return home to host divisional opponent Virginia Union on Oct. 10 and Lincoln (PA) on Oct. 21. BSU travels to West Virginia to visit Bluefield State on Oct. 14.
Following the final CIAA recap on October 26-27 in Petersburg, Virginia, Bowie State hosts Millersville in the non-conference final on October 29 at AC Jordan Arena.
On October 31, BSU travels to Richmond, Virginia to take on Virginia Union, then returns home to open the month of November with a home game against Big Blue of B-State on November 4. The Bulldogs close out the regular season with a pair of road games in Lincoln, PA on November 7 and Virginia State (November 14).
The CIAA quarterfinals will take place on Nov. 19 at the higher-seeded institutions, while Bowie State will host the CIAA Women's Volleyball Championship semifinals and championship on Nov. 22-23 at AC Jordan Arena.
