Sudharsan and Shaw struggle in English county cricket

Young left-handed batsman Sai Sudharsan and the seasoned Prithvi Shaw failed to make big scores in their English county matches for Surrey and Northamptonshire respectively.
Both teams are in their second season with their county team.
In a home match at the Oval against Essex, Surrey scored 262 in their first attempt with Sudharsan, who normally bats at the top of the order for Tamil Nadu, coming in at number 6 and scoring 14 from 47 balls with two boundaries.
He was dismissed by left-handed medium pacer Paul Walter, after which former South Africa international Simon Harmer picked up the ball.
However, Sudharsan is yet to bat in the second attempt, with Surrey currently at odds of 44/3 with a 126-run lead, having taken an 82-run lead in the first innings by bowling the visitors out for 180.
In another match between Northamptonshire and Sussex, the flamboyant right-hander Shaw hit 13 boundaries in two innings – seven in a 22-ball 31 and another six in 37 off 41 balls, but failed to make a big score.
In the first innings, Sussex's second change medium pacer Fynn Hudson-Prentice got his wicket, caught by Jack Carson.
Shaw's score was the second highest in his team's dismal first innings performance of 97 all out in just over 20 overs. This was after Sussex had scored 143 in their first innings.
In the second innings, Northamptonshire were 137/4 in a chase of 284, with Shaw contributing a quick 37 before left-handed bowler Sean Hunt broke through his defence.
