St. Louis CITY SC player Tyson Pearce selected for MLS NEXT All-Star squad
Midfielder Tyson Pearce of St. Louis CITY SC has been named to the 2024 MLS NEXT All-Star Game presented by Allstate. Pearce was selected along with 43 other players and divided into two teams of 22 by MLS NEXT staff following the 2024 MLS NEXT Cup Playoffs and Showcase. The two squads will compete on Tuesday, July 23 at 10:30 a.m. CT.
The match will be played in an East vs. West format at Historic Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio, home of Columbus Crew SC. The MLS NEXT All-Star Game is an opportunity for players to showcase their talents on a national stage. The match will be streamed live, with additional streaming details to be announced at a later date. For fans who wish to attend in person, the match is free and open to the public.
After signing with St. Louis CITY SC in 2023 as the team’s third native, the 16-year-old Missouri native Pearce earned his first professional cap with CITY2 against The Town FC last season, appearing as a substitute and playing 20 minutes. Since then, Pearce has appeared in 11 matches and started seven in the 2024 MLS NEXT Pro season. CITY2 has deployed Pearce as a shutdown left back this season. Pearce had the opportunity to train with CITY SC during preseason earlier this year and has appeared on several matchdays for the first team. Additionally, Pearce has previously been selected for the U.S. National Youth Team.
Pearce is the third St. Louis CITY SC player to be selected to the MLS NEXT Pro All-Star Game, joining 2022 first-team all-star Fritz Volmar and 2023 first-team all-star Caden Glover.
