Lulu Sun won her second round match of the women's singles by beating Yuliia Starodubtseva 4-6 6-3 6-2 in a match that lasted two hours and 13 minutes.
For Suns this was the fifth victory at Wimbledon this year. They won three times in the qualifying round and reached the last 32. That makes her one of the best players in the world.
This was Sun's eighth straight match on grass. It's a surface that not many players are comfortable on, but Sun's familiarity with it has helped her get to this point.
I played two tournaments before. I played three matches in total. I had a good level of players that I played against, she said.
Last year I didn't play on grass due to an injury, so there was a gap there.
But I think those matches helped me to get some match play on grass and qualify.
Starodubtseva started the match excellently, however: she broke Sun in the first game, held on after that and although the New Zealand woman managed to grab another break halfway through the set, she was broken again at 4-4.
Sun had a chance early in the second set, but nearly lost it when she trailed 14-50 at 4-2. But as so often during this championship, she managed to get out of trouble by serving and taking a 5-2 lead.
The next game was a marathon, with a whopping 13 deuces before Starodubtseva finally took the set. It wasn't enough to save her, however, as Sun took the set with an ace in the next game.
Starodubtseva was given a medical timeout for a problem with her left foot before the third set began. Although she showed no signs of physical problems, the Ukrainian was broken in the opening game.
Sun had another chance later in the set and went on to beat the 23-year-old from Te Anau to give him another incredible victory at this year's championship.
Sun once again showed her great mental strength and once she was in a relationship, she never seemed to want to leave it.
