The flight tracking portal shared the same on X, formerly Twitter: “After being our most tracked flight for much of the past 15 hours, India’s World Cup champion cricket team is less than an hour away from landing in Delhi.” The post included a satellite photo of the flight path.

For those unaware, the call sign of Air India’s special charter flight also stands for India’s World Cup victory, with ‘AIC’ standing for ‘Air India Chartered flight’ and ‘24WC’ for India’s 2024 T20 World Cup victory.

The T20 World Cup-winning Indian cricket team returned to the country on a specially arranged charter flight. Outside Indira Gandhi International Airport, dozens of fans lined up to welcome the players, despite persistent drizzle and heavy security that kept them at a distance from their heroes.
Hundreds of supporters, holding placards congratulating their favourites and waving the national flag, braved the weather to welcome the winning side. Fans cheered enthusiastically and held up posters of star players Virat Kohliskipper Rohit Sharma and outgoing head coach Rahul Dravid.
