ICC Champions Trophy to be held entirely in Pakistan: PCB

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has allocated around Rs 17 billion for the modernisation of its stadiums in Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi in preparation for the ICC Champions Trophy.
The funds were approved by the PCB Board of Governors (BOG) at a meeting in Lahore on Saturday, during which an additional Rs 240 million was allocated for expenditure on women's cricket.
It was a huge leap forward for women's cricket, compared to the Rs 70 million approved in the last budget.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi also told the BOG members that the Champions Trophy would be held entirely in Pakistan and it would be expanded further.

The meeting was held primarily to approve the PCB budget for 2024-25, which would see Pakistan host Bangladesh, England and the West Indies in the season, besides a pre-Champions Trophy tri-series and a tour of Australia, South Africa and Zimbabwe.
Naqvi informed the BOG members that the renovation work on the stadiums had started. The PCB wants to improve the facilities for spectators and convert the stadiums into A-class stadiums.
The BOG approved nearly 13 billion euros in development funds for the work on the three stadiums, plus 4.5 billion rupees for the organisation of the domestic season.
The BOG was also informed that the board had decided to increase the central contract fees/salaries for female cricketers and national players.
“The budget has been increased because the PCB wants to improve the level of competition and structures in both domestic and women's cricket,” Naqvi told the BOG.
