LAKE VIEW, SC Veteran three-time All-Pro NFL linebacker Shaquille Leonard hosted his annual free youth football camp, presented by the Maniac Foundation, at Lake View High School on Saturday.
Leonard, with the help of volunteers, hosted drills for children ages seven through seventeen, showcasing the knowledge and skills he has developed over the years as a star football player for the Wild Gators and the South Carolina State University Bulldogs. The event included free gear, food, and fellowship.
Drafted in the second round of the 2018 NFL draft by the Indianapolis Colts, Leonard quickly led the league with a franchise-record 163 tackles and was named AP NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year. He went on to earn three All-Pro and Pro Bowl selections in his first four seasons.
Leonard has 637 tackles, 17 forced fumbles, 16 sacks, 12 interceptions, seven fumble recoveries and one touchdown in his career. He and his wife Kayla Leonard launched the Maniac Foundation, which is dedicated to transforming communities through education, wellness, helping families in need and other charitable causes.
