University of Tulsa – Assistant Head Coach, Men's Tennis
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Tennis/Head Mens Tennis Coach, the Associate Head Coach, Mens Tennis is responsible for all aspects of the University of Tulsas NCAA Division I Mens Tennis Program. This position will serve as a positive role model for student-athletes in an optimistic environment that strives for academic and athletic excellence and will build professional relationships with student-athletes, staff, alumni and the general public in an effort to promote the University and its athletics program.
Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
Provide assistance to the Director of Tennis/Head Men's Tennis Coach in recruiting highly skilled student-athletes for the Men's Tennis Team, including the opportunity to recruit prospective student-athletes (PSAs), both nationally and internationally
Responsible for coordinating all team travel for the men's tennis team
Responsible for assisting the Tennis Director/Head Men's Tennis Coach with the overall management of the program including activities, travel, recruiting, equipment, coaching, and the team's operating budget.
Assist in the marketing and promotion of the university's men's tennis program
Help raise money for the men's tennis program
Develop and implement programs to assist student-athletes in their transition to the university environment
Assist in the coordination and management of home tennis matches/tournaments
Assist in the development of student athletes
Assist with the daily preparation and coordination of team training sessions
Perform necessary administrative duties as assigned by the Director of Tennis/Head Men's Tennis Coach
Required qualifications:
Knowledge/Skill/Ability
Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills; strong self-starter; ability to work within the American Athletic Conference; knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations; ability to work closely with a diverse group of people
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with student-athletes, faculty, coaches and administrators
Equivalent education/experience
Bachelor's degree; at least one year of experience as a coach and/or player in tennis at university level
Special task dimensions:
While working, you may be required to work with highly sensitive or confidential information and may sometimes have to travel at night.
