Connor Dodds And Charles Etienne Tabet return to Canada with a well-deserved amount of hardware.

The duo won a bronze medal in the men's lightweight doubles at the 2024 International University Sports Federation (FISU) World Rowing Championships in Rotterdam, Netherlands.

“It was an exciting experience to represent Canada on the international stage for the first time,” Tabet said. “The bronze medal is a testament to all the hard work we've put in over the years.”

The competition started on Thursday 4th July with a series of heats and concluded with the final on Saturday 7th July.

In the final race, Dodds and Tabet crossed the finish line in a time of six minutes, 28 seconds and 56 milliseconds behind Nicolò Demiliani and Matteo Tonelli of Italy (6:24.22) and Mathias Mair and Elias Friderich Hautsch of Austria (6:27.87).

“The weather was a big factor in the final and I think we handled it well,” Dodds said. “Winning a bronze medal shows that we can compete with the best rowers in the world and we are very proud of that.”

Brock Badgers graduate Sam Stewart (BA '23) won a silver medal in the men's quadruple (4-) event, along with teammates Julian Black, Axel Ewashko and Aidan Della of the University of British Columbia.

“Representing Brock as an alumnus is something I'm very proud of,” Stewart said. “Winning silver at FISU is the culmination of months of work I've put into honing my boat and getting along with three other athletes from another university.”

Stewart last rowed for the Badgers in 2022, where he won a national bronze medal and two provincial silver medals.

View photos The advantages of comparing online car insurance quotes are the following: Online quotes can be obtained from anywhere and at any time. Unlike physical insurance agencies, websites don't have a specific schedule and they are available at any time. Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Online quotes will allow policyholders the chance to discover multiple insurance companies and check their prices. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless. Usually, insurance companies will do research about a potential customer before granting him coverage. Online quotes can be sorted easily. Although drivers are recommended to not choose a policy just based on its price, drivers can easily sort quotes by insurance price.
