Indian table tennis player and Commonwealth Games gold medalist Beads silver will face Great Britain's Anna Hursey in the opening round of the women's singles, while the experienced male player Achanta Sharath Kamal will face Deni Kozul from Slovenia on July 27 in the Paris 2024 Olympics.

According to the draw, Batra is seeded 18th for the Olympic Games in ParisThis will be Manika's third consecutive appearance at the Summer Games, having made her debut in Rio 2016.

Interestingly, Manika, who recently reached the 24th position in the world rankings after her stunning performance in the Saudi Smash, has become the first Indian female table tennis player to reach the round of 16 in singles at the Tokyo Olympics.

On the other hand, 18-year-old Anna Hursey will make her Olympic debut. Batra, ranked 28 in the world, will far outshine the Welsh teenager, who is ranked 103rd.

Meanwhile, Commonwealth Games champion Sharath Kamal is all set to make his fifth appearance at the Olympics. The 41-year-old will lead a six-member Indian table tennis contingent at the Paris Olympics.

Harmeet Desai will begin his men's singles in the preliminary round and will face Zaid Abo Yaman from Jordan on July 27. If Harmeet wins the preliminary round, he will face Frances Felix Lebrun, the world number 5, in the main draw.

On the other hand, Sreeja Akulaseeded 16th in the women's singles at Paris 2024, will face Sweden's Christina Kallberg in her round of 64 match. Sreeja's opponent Kallberg appeared in this event at Tokyo 2020 and lost in the opening round.

The Indian men's team consisting of Sharath Kamal, Manav Thakkar and Harmeet face a tough test as they face top-ranked China, a four-time gold medalist, in the opening round.

China has shown its dominance by winning the gold medal in the men's event in every edition since the introduction of team events at the Olympics in 2008. India, on the other hand, has qualified for the team events in table tennis at the Olympics for the first time.
