Kansas Athletics to Provide Student Transportation and More During 2024 Football Season

LAWRENCE, Kan. — Kansas Athletics is pleased to announce details for the KU Student Bus Program in an effort to provide a free mode of transportation to and from Kansas City for football home games. In partnership with KU Parking and Transportation, Student Union Activities, First Student bus company and Event Transport Solutions, Kansas Athletics will provide safe and seamless transportation options for students to and from Children's Mercy Park and GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

This well-thought-out and robust bus program provides students with a safe and efficient option to attend our games in full force. We challenge our students to make a powerful show of support while enjoying a unique opportunity to cheer on their Jayhawks in two iconic Kansas City venues.”
Students can register and reserve their seat on the bus on a first-come, first-served basis through the KORQ campus events app or Rock Chalk Central. From there, students can designate the pick-up location and time that works best for them, with the first wave of buses leaving approximately 3 hours prior to kickoff. Departure times may vary based on the day of the week and kickoff time. There will be two pick-up and drop-off locations, one on the west side of campus and one on the east side. Pick-up locations may vary based on the game date and other events happening on campus.
Registration on the app will be promoted and live for the first two games at Children’s Mercy Park in early August, with future game registration to be announced at a later date. With limited seats available through the transportation program, students are encouraged to follow Kansas Athletics on Facebook, Instagram and X and purchase their Student Combo Pass to receive email communications and updates. The goal is to provide transportation for at least 1,000 students per game, but that can fluctuate based on demand and availability of buses and bus drivers.
In addition to student transportation options, Kansas Athletics and SUA will be offering free food on a first-come, first-served basis and activities in tailgating areas for students at each location. At Children’s Mercy Park, the Fanfest location will be in Mazuma Plaza and at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium, it will be in Lot M. Additionally, there will be student giveaways at each home game, which will also be given out on a first-come, first-served basis. Children’s Mercy Park will have an in-venue hospitality area for students adjacent to the seating areas that are part of the access path to the student section. The area will have air conditioning, televisions, restrooms, and elevated food and beverage options for purchase.
Information on how Student Combo Pass holders can claim their tickets to a football game will also be distributed in August. The student section at Children’s Mercy Park will be in sections S1-S3 and S6-S9, along with unique standing room options and sections 127 and 129-134 at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium. The Marching Jayhawks will be in S4 and S5 at Children’s Mercy Park and in section 128 at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
