2 teens arrested for truck theft, damaging soccer field in Gwinnett County
GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. – A 16-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy were arrested Tuesday after a chase that involved a stolen truck, a high school football field and Gwinnett County police.
According to Gwinnett County police, they were told that a Ram 1500 truck was stolen from the driveway of a home on Adams Acre Drive in Lawrenceville on August 6. The owner of the truck had video footage of the two thieves breaking into multiple vehicles before finding the keys inside the truck and taking them.
After stealing the truck, the thieves drove it to Mill Creek High School and vandalized the football field.
Later that day, the truck was picked up by several Flock cameras in the Buford area. Officers arrived on scene and found the truck behind a Walmart on Sardis Church Road. The two thieves were inside the truck.
The officers attempted to box in the vehicle by parking one officer behind the truck and the other in front of it, but the truck began to move, hitting one of the officers the most.

Gwinnett County police are pursuing two teenagers who allegedly stole a truck and then used it to vandalize a high school football field.
The officers followed the truck for a short distance until it collided with another vehicle on Hamilton Mill Road. After the crash, the two thieves jumped out and began to run.
Officers chased after the two thieves and tasered the 16-year-old girl.
The 17-year-old, identified as Robert Krause of Lawrenceville, was also arrested a short time later.
Krause and the girl were taken to a juvenile detention center. Their charges include aggravated assault on a police officer, fleeing or attempting to deceive a police officer, reckless driving, failing to stop after a collision, driving without a license, obstruction, giving a false name to a police officer, theft by stealing a motor vehicle and trespassing.
