Pakistan Cricket Scraps Daily Allowance for Women Cricketers in National Camps
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to abolish daily allowances for female players registering for national camps.
The decision not to give players any form of daily allowance has left many disappointed and angry.
The players are no longer getting a daily allowance as the board now provides them with accommodation and three full meals a day, a PCB official said.
But the players, who are currently at the training camp in Multan ahead of the home series against the South African women's team, feel the decision was not taken lightly as they had come from different parts of the country.
The South African team has already arrived in Multan and is preparing for the white-ball series on September 17, which is seen as a build-up to the 2024 ICC Womens T20 Cup World Cup in the UAE next month.
The Pakistan men's national team players, on the other hand, are given the option of two full meals a day, as well as accommodation and a daily allowance.

A source aware of the developments said that until recently the board was providing a daily allowance to the female players.
The decision to change the policy comes at a time when the board is spending millions on various other projects, including monthly salaries of Rs5 million for five mentors of the teams in the Champions Cup currently being held in Faisalabad.
The government is also spending about Rs 12.8 billion on renovating three test sites in the country in preparation for the Champions Trophy early next year.
What a few hundred thousand rupees will mean to the board is anyone's guess, but according to a former Pakistani player, it could lead to discontent in women's cricket.
The official said the female players participating in the series will be paid a daily allowance.
The players are also still waiting for the board to announce their central contracts for the fiscal year, which has already been delayed by more than a month.
Last year the board gave central contracts to 19 players.
