Utah State men's tennis begins its fall 2024 season this weekend after securing a Mountain West regular season title last spring. The Aggie team features three returning athletes, senior Sergi Micó Fenollar, senior David Martirosian and sophomores Mohammed Alcotop. Fenollar, a native of Cocentaina, Spain, is a three-year letterwinner for the Aggies and was named to the 2024 Singles and Doubles All-Mountain West teams. Martirosian is from Glendale, California, and was named to the Mountain West All-Tournament Doubles Team last season. Alkotop, a native of Amman, Jordan, was the Mountain West Freshman of the Year last season and was named to the All-Mountain West Singles Team and the Mountain West All-Tournament Doubles Team. USU’s freshman additions include Dmitry Goubin, Eliot Nobel, Roman Vengerand sophomores Keanu RigbyGoubin, of Plano, Texas, was a highly sought-after recruit, ranked as a four-star prospect by the Tennis Recruiting Network. He was ranked No. 41 nationally and No. 6 in Texas for doubles. Nobel, of Stockholm, Sweden, has an International Tennis Federation (ITF) ranking of No. 1823. Venger, of Lviv, Ukraine, has been a member of the Ukrainian national team since he was 14, with a career-high ITF junior ranking of 313. Rigby, a native of Tremonton, Utah, is returning as a sophomore after serving a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Montreal, Canada. In his first season, Rigby posted a 4-4 singles record during the doubles season.
