FSU football fans react to SMU blowing out FSU in their ACC opener
Southern Methodist blew out the FSU Seminoles on Saturday night after a competitive first half. The Mustangs led 14-9 at halftime and used multiple DJ Uiagalelei turnovers to pull away in the second half for a 42-16 victory. Uiagalelei threw three interceptions (only two were his fault). He was 12 of 23 for 222 yards with two touchdowns and three interceptions.
The FSU offense seemed to have some life on the second drive, scoring a touchdown to tie the game 7-7. However, it was the only offensive goal in the first half. FSU got a safety when the SMU center ran the ball over the punter's head and out of the end zone.
I would fire Mike for good reason. Because this is unbelievably terrible.

Well, I always love my Noles, but there are serious problems with this team and with the program. This could be an even bigger challenge for CMN than the mess he inherited. His culture is contaminated with something. A cure must be found. Will definitely require introspection and change.

The turning point in the game came on FSU's first drive of the second half. DJ Uiaglalei threw a perfect strike that hit tight end Kyle Morlock square in his hands before the ball went into the air and was intercepted. SMU scored a touchdown three plays later to increase the lead to 21-9. The FSU offense went three-and-out and SMU pushed the lead to 28-9.
FSU managed to cut the lead to 28-16 and got a three-and-out on defense, but a false facemask call gave the ball right back to the SMU offense. That was the game when the FSU defense all but shut down, and who could blame them after how poorly the offense played?
SMU totaled 467 yards and was 8 of 15 on third downs.
FSU couldn't get out of the way. They committed stupid punishments, and some of them were at the hands of upper class people. Brock Glenn entered the game after Uiagalelei suffered a finger injury in the fourth quarter. He didn't look much better and was under constant pressure.
This FSU team is terrible and probably won't make a bowl game after going undefeated in the 2023 regular season. That's inexcusable.
