Community through hockey game is on Saturday | News, sports, jobs

The annual Community Through Hockey game will be held Saturday and will raise money for the Chautauqua County Humane Society this year.

The Jamestown All-Stars will play the Fredonia All-Stars at the Northwest Arena in Jamestown. Doors open at 6:00 PM and puck drop at 7:05 PM. Admission is free to the public.

“We are honored to partner with Eric Herman and Tony Privitera to create this exciting hockey game to benefit the animals who depend on the Chautauqua County Humane Society,” said Brian Papalia, director of fundraising and communications for the Chautauqua County Humane Society. “We will have information and adoptable animals in the lobby at 6 p.m., and it will be a super fun evening with some really great baskets donated by volunteers and businesses, and a 50/50 with the prize already worth over $1,500. .”

There will also be a very special guest, Brandy, a CCHS alumni who was adopted by Bri Loomis in 2018. Brandy drops the puck to start the game.

“I am excited to see how the partnership between Community Through Hockey and the Chautauqua County Humane Society is helping the Charity Through Hockey Game grow,” said Eric Herman of Community Through Hockey. “We have evolved into a true community event where members of our local adult leagues have now joined the cause and will compete to help the cats and dogs who rely on the services of CCHS. People don't have to play or even watch hockey to come support our fundraising event and have a great time.”
