The Dutch (6-3, 1-2 ACC) picked up 308 points this week after splitting results at Wake Forest and Duke last week, eliminating both ACC foes.
North Carolina, which was inactive last week, remained at the top of the poll with 1,029 points and 28 first-place votes. Northwestern came in second with 1,008 points and the remaining 25 first-place votes. Virginia came in third with 930 points, followed by Ohio State in fourth with 888 points. Maryland rounded out the top five with 766 points.
Seven ACC teams were in the top 20 this week: No. 1 North Carolina, No. 3 Virginia, No. 11 Boston College, No. 12 Duke, No. 15 Syracuse, No. 16 Louisville and the newly minted No. 20 California.
During the 2024 season, Syracuse will face half of this week's NFHCA Division I Top 20: No. 1 North Carolina, No. 3 Virginia, No. 4 Ohio State, No. 8 UConn, No. 11 Boston College, No. 12 Duke, No. 14 Princeton, No. 16 Louisville, No. 17 Penn State, No. 20 California.
