RIT selected to play NCAA Div. I Men's Regional Ice Hockey, NCAA Div. III Women's Lacrosse Championship in 2028
ROCHESTER, NY RIT has been selected to host an NCAA Division I Men's Ice Hockey Regional and the NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse Championship in 2028, it was announced Wednesday.
“We are pleased to have been selected by the NCAA to host two such prestigious events,” said Jacqueline Nicholson, RIT Executive Director of Athletics. “We look forward to showcasing our campus and the greater Rochester region and can't wait to welcome all the teams and their supporters to our community.”
2028 NCAA DIVISION I MEN'S ICE HOCKEY REGIONAL
RIT will host two opening round matches and one second round match at Blue Cross Arena in downtown Rochester, NY
The matches will be played on Thursday, March 23 and Saturday, March 25 or on Friday, March 24 and Sunday, March 26, to be announced the Sunday before the tournament.
The winner of the regional championship will advance to the Frozen Four, which will be played at the United Center in Chicago.
2028 NCAA DIVISION III WOMEN'S LACROSS CHAMPIONSHIP
RIT will host the two national semifinals on Friday, May 26, as well as the national championship game on Sunday, May 28.
The three games will be played on the RIT campus at Tiger Stadium.
