Womens Tennis Central: Four Lady Vols ready for the Woman of Troy invitational
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. Members of the Tennessee women's tennis team Conley Raidt, Maeve Thornton, My hand is sideways And Saray Yli-Piipari will participate in the Woman of Troy Invitation. The event, scheduled for Friday through Sunday in Los Angeles, is hosted by the University of Southern California.
The drawing will feature participants from Tennessee, USC, UC Santa Barbara, Pepperdine, BYU and Wisconsin.
Several doubles begin Friday at 1:15 PM ET, followed by several singles. On Saturday, play begins at 1:30 PM ET with doubles, followed by singles. The Sunday schedule includes both singles and doubles matches starting at 12:00 PM ET.
The draws and times will be finalized at the end of the day on Thursday. The tournament has live stats and a livestream available to viewers.

Raidt is set to take the field for the Big Orange in her collegiate debut. The lefty graduated from Rivers Academy Private School and won two individual state titles, one in 2024 and the other in 2021. Raidt's 2022 competition included two national tournament championship titles in doubles, in addition to achieving one finalist and one semi finalist.
Maeve Thornton – Sophomore
Thornton returns after an impressive weekend at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic, where she and partner finished as a doubles finalist Vanessa Suarez. Thornton joined the Lady Vols after a year at Furman, where she posted a 9-11 singles record and was the No. 2 player in the Paladins' 2024 lineup. Prior to college, Thornton was rated a top recruit by tennisrecruiting.net and ranked 22nd nationally. The top-ranked player in Tennessee led Knoxville Catholic to a pair of state championships and claimed two individual state singles titles.
My hand is sideways – Freshman
Yan is scheduled to play her second collegiate tournament this weekend after picking up a pair of wins at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic last weekend. Before arriving at Rocky Top in the fall of 2024, she claimed both the J3 ITF Gallipoli Youth Cup title and the J2 ITF Thailand Doubles title. Yan was also the semi-finalist of the 2023 U18 Australian Nationals singles and doubles, as well as a finalist of the 2022 U18 Australian Nationals singles and doubles. In 2023, Yan was crowned South Australian 18s Player of the Year.
Saray Yli-Piipari – Freshman
The Peachtree Corners, Georgia, native is ready for her second collegiate show this weekend after competing in the Milwaukee Tennis Class and earning three wins. Yli-Piipari, a graduate of Laurel Springs High School, earned several titles this past year, including four championships and one finalist. In junior tennis, Yli-Piipari was the No. 2 player in the state of Georgia and ranked 29th nationally.
