National Women's Cricket appoints Aditiba Chudasama as captain

Aditiba Chudasama has replaced Sindhu Sriharsha as captain of the US cricket women's national team. The 18-year-old all-rounder's first assignment will be a five-match ODI series in Zimbabwe from October 1728, 2024.
After moving to the US, she joined American cricket when she played in two 2Twenty20 matches against Pakistan in 2015. Captain Sindhu Sriharsha led her team to three series wins in the ICC Womens T20 World Cup Americas Qualifier.
Since 2017, Sriharsha has been the captain of the US team for the ICC Womens Qualifier Americas tournament. Her performance in the WT20I against Canada marked an important step in her career and set the stage for her team.
The team participated under her leadership in the 2021 Women's World Cricket World Cup Qualifier, the 2019 ICC Women's World Twenty20 Qualifier in Scotland and the 2021 ICC Women's T20 World Cup Qualifier. She has proven to be a reliable leader and help the US cricket team achieve its goals.
The national women's selection panel, in discussion with Head Coach Hilton Moreeng, felt it was time to make changes in the leadership of the team. They also believe the timing will give Aditiba Chudasama the opportunity to grow as a captain ahead of major events such as the 2026 T20 World Cup qualifying cycle.
USA Cricket expressed its gratitude to Sriharsha's family for their support and the sacrifices made by the former captain who always gave her all and contributed to the team.

Recently, USA Cricket announced National Training Groups for Women and Under-19s with the aim of giving other players the opportunity to gain leadership skills as part of the rotation policy. The national under-19 program has provided young players with an early exposure to international cricket.
