Puck drop

– Let's try this again. After last weekend's season opener at Minnesota Duluth was postponed until January after Syracuse's travel plans changed due to Hurricane Helene, the Dutch will *officially* open the 2024-2025 season with a home game.
– Syracuse will host Stonehill on Friday and Saturday for a weekend series at the Tennity Ice Pavilion. Game times are set for Friday at 5:30 PM and Saturday at 3:00 PM.
– Britni Smith begins her third season at the helm of the program, joined by assistant coaches Heather Farrell And Megan Quinn '18, who have been alongside Smith since her arrival in 2022-2023. Nick Harper joined the program last fall as a goaltending coach.
– The 17th year of hockey in Syracuse now begins at home, ending a four-year streak in which the Dutch opened the season on the road. The last time Syracuse started a season at Tennity was during the 2019-20 season.
– Saturday's match will be played on FloHockey.

– The season-opening series for the Dutch team, a showdown on September 28 and 29 in Minnesota Duluth, was postponed until January.

Same league, new name

– Last spring it was announced that the Atlantic Hockey Association and College Hockey America would come under the same umbrella: Atlantic Hockey America.
– College Hockey America debuted in women's ice hockey in 2002 and has shared administrative operations with Atlantic Hockey since 2010.
– On the women's side, Atlantic Hockey America currently features six NCAA Division I teams: Syracuse, Lindenwood, Mercyhurst, Penn State, RIT and Robert Morris. In 2025-2026, the University of Delaware will join Atlantic Hockey America, while the Fighting Blue Hens will add Division I women's ice hockey to their varsity lineup.

– Syracuse competed in College Hockey America from the 2008-09 season until the merger last spring.
– The 2024-25 Atlantic Hockey America postseason runs from February 22 (quarterfinals) through the championship game on March 8.

Welcome, Emmy!

– Syracuse hockey head coach Britni Smith and its 2024-25 roster are honored to announce Emelia “Emmy” Phillips to the program in partnership with Team IMPACT.
– Signing of a “National Letter of Intent” Emmy and her family will be linked to hockey in Syracuse throughout the season and were a key part of the 2024-25 Official Team Photo and Content Day festivities.
– This marks the 10th year Syracuse and Team IMPACT have enjoyed their partnership and the 13th match between programs.
– Emmy, 5 years old, was diagnosed with spina bifida and the genetic condition CASK. Emmy was joined on signing day by her parents, Christine and Matt, and her sister Anderson.

Earn a letter

– Prior to the 2024-2025 season opener, head coach Britni Smith announced the team captains and assistant captains for the season.
– Graduate student Tatum White was selected as team captain for a second year while serving as a netminder Allie Kelley will accompany her with a C.
– Maya D'Arcy, Heidi KnollAnd Charli Kettlel were selected as assistant captains. It will be the first time the trio of assistant captains wear a letter at Syracuse.
