National Cricket League unveils stadium at UT Dallas
The 11-day tournament lasts from October 4 to October 14
DALLAS The National Cricket League (NCL) and the University of Texas at Dallas have unveiled their new cricket stadium, with enough seating for more than 3,500 fans, ahead of the Sixty Strikes Tournament starting on Friday, October 4.
In a press release, the NCL said the stadium will allow spectators to enjoy world-class matches alongside Coachella-style entertainment.
According to the NCL, the stadium is designed with solar energy and a zero-waste policy, which coincides with the league's efforts to be completely eco-friendly by 2030. The NCL said that for every boundary hit during the Sixty Strikes Tournament, a tree will be destroyed. planted as part of the league's reforestation efforts.
“Our mission is not only to promote the sport of cricket but also to have a positive impact on the communities we interact with,” NCL chairman Arun Agarwal said in the press release. “This stadium showcases that vision. In the Sixty Strikes Tournament, the games will be faster than traditional cricket matches. According to the NCL, the Sixty Strikes format offers a more compressed, fast-paced version of the traditional game of cricket, allowing players to be more competitive and score more. In this format, each game lasts approximately 90 minutes.
