Twin Cities woman accused of sexually assaulting youth hockey players receives settlement
ST. PAUL, Min. – A Blaine woman accused of sexually assaulting two teenage hockey players agreed to a plea deal Friday, court records show.
Allison Schardin38, was charged in Ramsey County with third- and fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct in connection with the alleged attack in January in a Roseville hotel room. She pleaded not guilty in Maybut on Friday she changed her plea on the third-degree charge to guilty. The fourth-degree charge will be dismissed, court records state.
Schardin will be sentenced on January 10.
The youth hockey players are from Colorado and were in Minnesota for a tournament, according to court documents.
The victims say Schardin joined them in the hotel hot tub, where she allegedly told them she was having marital problems with her husband, who she said was abusive. The victims say she also confided in them that she had recently cheated on her husband with a middle-aged hockey player.
The complaint states that at one point her husband came to the pool room and demanded that she return to their room or their “relationship was over.”
One of the victims said Schardin later texted him asking if she could come to his room because her husband was abusive, which led to her allegedly abusing the boys.
In the days following the alleged assaults, Schardin is accused of urging one of the victims in a text message not to tell police or report what happened.
She was arrested weeks later, with police saying she waived her Miranda rights and spoke openly with investigators, admitting to the sexual contact.
