October 4, 2024 –The Atlantic Hockey America men's season has officially started and two teams were in action on Friday evening. Mercyhurst hosted Bowling Green and Air Force hosted Arizona State.

- Sophomore Boris Skalos scored the first goal of the season for Mercyhurst. Mickey Burns picked up an assist during the game and shot a team-high five on goal.
- Second goalkeeper Simon Bucheler stopped 25 of 27 shot attempts for the Lakers.
- The Lakers defeated the Falcons 33-27 and recorded 16 blocks on the night.

Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) will begin its inaugural season in 2024-2025 following the merger between the Atlantic Hockey Association and College Hockey America. The conference features eleven men's teams (American International College, Bentley University, Canisius College, The College of Holy Cross, Mercyhurst University, Niagara University, Rochester Institute of Technology, Robert Morris University, Sacred Heart University, the United States Air Force Academy and the United States Military Academy) and six women's teams (Lindenwood University, Mercyhurst University, Penn State University, Rochester Institute of Technology, Robert Morris University and Syracuse University).
