Mr. Hong is the transportation specialist for the Army Field Support Battalion-Korea Fleet Management Operations. In recent months he has taken charge of the FMO as a senior transport analyst and advisor. Our Transportation Officer is currently serving a dual role and Mr. Hong has filled the gap while our TO is performing the duties of the Installation Transportation Officer. Mr. Hong is the lead operations planner for non-tactical vehicle disposals here at Camp Humphreys.

How long have you been a member of the team?

It's been seven years since I joined the team.

What tasks are you responsible for?

I work as a supervisory transportation specialist in Fleet Management Operations at AFSBn-K, Camp Humphreys. My main duties include planning, directing, supervising, training and analyzing transportation operations. As a senior leader of the Korean employees, I monitor, advise and review all administrative procedures for all Korean employees. I prepare various reports and tasks such as agency reports on motor vehicle data, NTV costing and management data, and annual Vehicle Utilization Review Board data. I build an accurate database by periodically screening various records for all NTVs. I analyze, develop and recommend NTV operation requirements for replacements and assignments.

What is the best thing about working at FMO?

The best thing about FMO is working with a great team and great leadership. I love all the members I work with.

Why did you want to become a transport specialist?

I became fascinated with transportation while working at the Transportation Motor Pool.

What is the best thing about being a transport specialist?

It's the best! I plan and support the transportation mission to help external organizations carry out their missions. I am able to work by connecting and collaborating with all units at Camp Humphreys.

What did you do before you joined?

I was a transportation assistant.

What are your plans for after your service?

My plan is for FMO to become the most efficient organization in Korea, and after five years, the most productive organization in the world!

What do you like to do in your spare time?

In my spare time I like to read books and watch movies with my family.

My favorite activity is table tennis. I enjoy playing the game and teaching beginners.
