TABLE TENNIS – The BAHRAIN national table tennis team will participate in the 27th ITTF Asian Table Tennis Championships, which kick off today in Astana, Kazakhstan.
The Kingdom's squad consists of four men's players, including Mohamed Saleh, Rashed Sanad, Husain Murtadha and Mohammed Nader Alaali.
The Bahraini delegation that traveled to the Kazakh capital is led by Bahrain Table Tennis Association Secretary General Jaafar Hadi.
The continental tournament features singles, doubles and team play for both men and women. There will also be a mixed doubles category.
All four Bahrain rowers will compete in the singles competition, while in the doubles, Saleh and Sanad will team up and Murtadha and Alaali will be paired.
The quartet will therefore appear at the tables in the team match, which kicks off the championship action today. The Bahrainis are in group three for this event and will play Kyrgyzstan and Hong Kong in their two matches.
