Australian cricket team star Marnus Labuschagne wowed everyone with his unique pitch setting as he led Queensland in the opening round of Sheffield Shield. During the match against Western Australia, Labuschagne came out to bowl, but it was his fielding that sent the internet into a frenzy. The Australian all-rounder instructed one of his teammates to stand directly behind the referee in the circle. It was neither a mid-on nor a mid-off position, with the fielder placed almost directly behind the stumps. Even the on-field umpire was surprised when he turned around and saw the fielder.

Labuschagne made further changes to the field when he went to the fielder and pulled him to the umpire's left and asked him to remain there for the remainder of the over.
It turned out to be a bluff by the Queensland captain as the next ball was a bouncer, but the batsman didn't fall for the trap and easily ducked to avoid the delivery.
Gully cricket has not set up such a pitch either.

Meanwhile, former West Indies cricketer Brian Lara, who will head the upcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy, on Tuesday warned Team India and said Australia is a “different beast” on their home field.
In the coming days, Australia will take on India in the prestigious Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

The much-awaited Border-Gavaskar series between India and Australia will begin on November 22 with the first Test in Perth.
Over the years, India has gained the upper hand over Australia in the series. India has won the previous four series against Australia in a row, including two wins in Australia in the 2018/19 and 2020/21 seasons.
This has made India a much more successful side in the series, with India winning the BGT ten times and Australia five times, with their last series win coming during the 2014–15 season. Their last series win in India was in 2004-05.
Lara told reporters that conditions in India have changed. He praised the Indian Premier League (IPL) and said the T20 tournament offers a different level of competition to the youth cricketers.
“I think the adaptation is above all else. The adaptation is the ability to support your talent under any circumstances. I say this with a grain of salt because the circumstances have changed in India. With the IPL, international players are coming – and you give your players a different level of competition, which is great. So I don't think he (Yashasvi Jaiswal) has to do much technically [he has to adjust]: traveling away from home, [and] playing against Australia; Australia, on their shores, is a different animal,” Lara told ESPNcricinfo.
