Aliquippa's Little Quips football program has been reinstated

Aliquippa's Little Quips football program has been reinstated

FRIDAY 10/25/25 UPDATE: Pittsburgh's Action News 4 contacted Aliquippa Mayor Dwan Walker on Friday morning and he confirmed that the Aliquippa Little Quips program had been reinstated. Additional details were not immediately available. EARLIER REPORT: The Aliquippa Little Quips youth soccer teams have been eliminated from their league, just days away from the league semifinals. The Little Quips organization told Pittsburgh's Action News 4 that their teams were blindsided when the Beaver County Youth Football League board of directors voted 6-3 to remove them Wednesday night. Aliquippa parents met Thursday evening to discuss next steps. The Little Quips program serves more than 100 youth football players and approximately 75 cheerleaders. The BCYFL said the vote to remove the teams was the result of a history of misconduct and a recent fight between adults after a match. Aliquippa is a soccer town. We let it bleed. We bleed red and black. We love our children. We love our program, said Jason Harvey, president of the Aliquippa Youth Football Organization. This is one way to keep them out of harm's way. I mean, without this they have nothing. Nothing at all. A statement from the BCYFL details an incident last Saturday after the game between the Central Valley Little Warriors and the Aliquippa Little Quips, in which a pregnant mother was attacked by several Aliquippa spectators. Center Township Police Chief Aldo Legge said he is waiting for higher quality video of the fight than what was shared by both the BCYFL and Little Quips to identify those involved. Legge said charges are pending against several people. “This was between two stupid parents who stepped out on their own, and a situation like that, and caused this whole snowball effect, that loss for our children,” Aliquippa Mayor Dwan Walker said. Walker said he tried to break up the fight and he just saw one Aliquippa spectator involved. The removal of the Little Quips from the competition took place four days later and was effective immediately. A BCYFL board member said: 'Their removal is not attributed to this one incident, but it was just the straw that broke the camel's back. They have had a history of misconduct. Eight people have not voted them out. Eight organizations with more than 150 families have all spoken out and said enough is enough. Aliquippa coaches are wondering why the teams were removed this week and not sooner if the board claims there has been a history of misconduct. Our children know what liability is. Our children know how to stand up for what is right for them. But at the end of the day, if you're going to punish a four-year-old for something he has nothing to do with, make sure it makes sense to me, Harvey said. Walker said he is exploring what legal options the team might have. The board member said the Central Valley team was not disciplined for the fight because they believed the woman police identified as the victim acted in self-defense.

FRIDAY AM 10/25/25 UPDATE:

Pittsburgh's Action News 4 contacted Aliquippa Mayor Dwan Walker on Friday morning and he confirmed that the Aliquippa Little Quips program had been reinstated.

Additional details were not immediately available.

EARLIER REPORT:

The Aliquippa Little Quips youth soccer teams have been eliminated from their league, just days away from the league semifinals.

“This was between two stupid parents who stepped out of their own accord, and this kind of situation, and it just snowballed into harm to our children,” Aliquippa Mayor Dwan Walker said.

Walker said he tried to break up the fight and only one Aliquippa spectator was involved.

The Little Quips' removal from the competition took place four days later and was effective immediately.

A BCYFL board member said: “Their removal is not attributed to this one incident, but it was just the straw that broke the camel's back. They have had a history of misconduct. They didn't vote out eight people. Eight organizations with more than 150 families all gave their opinion and said: enough is enough.

Aliquippa coaches are questioning why the teams were removed this week and not earlier when the board claims there has been past misconduct.

Our children know what responsibility is. Our children know how to stand up for what is right for them. But at the end of the day, if you're going to punish a four-year-old for something he had nothing to do with, make sure it makes sense to me, Harvey said.

Walker said he is exploring what legal options the team might have.

A BCYFL board member said the Central Valley team did not take disciplinary action for the fight because they believed the woman police identified as the victim acted in self-defense.

View photos The advantages of comparing online car insurance quotes are the following: Online quotes can be obtained from anywhere and at any time. Unlike physical insurance agencies, websites don't have a specific schedule and they are available at any time. Drivers that have busy working schedules, can compare quotes from anywhere and at any time, even at midnight. Multiple choices. Almost all insurance providers, no matter if they are well-known brands or just local insurers, have an online presence. Online quotes will allow policyholders the chance to discover multiple insurance companies and check their prices. Drivers are no longer required to get quotes from just a few known insurance companies. Also, local and regional insurers can provide lower insurance rates for the same services. Accurate insurance estimates. Online quotes can only be accurate if the customers provide accurate and real info about their car models and driving history. Lying about past driving incidents can make the price estimates to be lower, but when dealing with an insurance company lying to them is useless. Usually, insurance companies will do research about a potential customer before granting him coverage. Online quotes can be sorted easily. Although drivers are recommended to not choose a policy just based on its price, drivers can easily sort quotes by insurance price.
