Four ETSU tennis players selected for ITA Conference Masters Championships
ROME, Georgia (October 25, 2024) ETSU tennis players Daniela Rivera, Alessandra Caceres, Martin Garcia-Ripoll And Francisco Lamas have been selected by the Southern Conference to represent the league at the upcoming ITA Conference Masters Championships in early November.
“This is a great achievement to be selected for this prestigious court,” said ETSU Tennis Director Ricky Rojas. “This is a testament to the hard work of our players to be recognized by our coaches in the competition. We are extremely proud of them and we look forward to participating in the event.”
Rivera will be the SoCon representative in singles and will team with Caceres for doubles. Garcia-Ripoll and Lamas, meanwhile, are the SoCon's dual representatives in the field.
The 2024 ITA Conference Masters Championship has a draw size of the following: (singles: 32) (doubles: 32). From this, four players (4) will qualify for the NCAA Singles Championship (semifinalists).
Meanwhile, three doubles teams (3) qualify for the NCAA Doubles Championship through the Conference Masters (champion, finalist, third place).
Each Division I conference eligible for NCAA AQ designates one singles and one doubles team of each gender to participate in the event. These players may be selected through a conference tournament or through an alternate selection process determined by the conference office and its members.
