A national Texas high school football showdown is underway in the Houston area on Friday night.

Galena Park North Shore hits the road to take on district rival Atasocita in an annual battle between area foes. This year, both teams are nationally ranked.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM Central Time and will be streamed live on the NFHS Network (subscription required).

— North Shore forces fourth with 1:02 to go and Atasocita smells the punt! North Shore takes over on the opposing 40-yard line with a minute to play and trailing by three.

— Atascocita has the ball in their own territory and will look to kill the clock with a three-point lead. This second half was a real scoreless chess match.

— Big defensive stop for Atascocita with under three minutes to go! Caleb Bailey let's fly an incomplete pass, fly downfield to get on fourth down. North Shore kicks away and gives Atascocita the ball with 2:34 left. North Shore has two timeouts.

— Four-star commitment to Oklahoma Tory Blaylock comes into play, the Atascocita crowd erupts and North Shore immediately calls a timeout. He's averaging more than nine yards per carry this year, one ahead of the top backs in Texas.
